JUST ANNOUNCED - Elizabeth Edwards has signed on to speak at Clinical Trials Congress 2008 in Orlando, FL. Edwards will be promoting her new book, Saving Graces which hit shelves on September 26, 2007 and quickly rose up the ranks of the New York Times best-seller list.
". . . Edwards's memoir is not about cancer, politics or even unbearable loss (though the description of her grief is heart-wrenching). It's about the value of people coming together to support each other. You'll find no celebrity gossip here. But like the kiss on the forehead her husband gave her at the end of their first date, this memoir is disarmingly moving." -Publishers Weekly
Edwards shares her husband's (former Senator and presidential candidate John Edwards) deep commitment to improving America's future. In addition to being an advocate for children's causes, an accomplished attorney, and a tireless worker on behalf of other important social causes, Elizabeth is a fighter. The day after the general election in 2004, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Elizabeth was in remission until March 2007 when she discovered her cancer had returned. Elizabeth and John made the decision to continue on with the campaign and Elizabeth has kept an active schedule of campaign activities.
Edwards will be speaking at the Clinical Trials Congress (http://www.clinicalevent.com/) on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 during her talk: Saving Graces: Tragedy, Triumph, and the Will to Succeed. Elizabeth's talk at CTC will explore some of her toughest moments in dealing with breast cancer, inspiring attendees to find within themselves the will to persevere.
Ms. Edwards will be signing copies of her book at a meet and greet that will take place from 10:30 to 11:15 on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the Congress.
Attendees at CTC will also be inspired by legendary sports enthusiast and cancer awareness promoter Dick Vitale. Vitale will be leading attendees in a 3K "Race for your Cause" Tuesday morning, February 26th. Part of attendees' registration fees will be donated by conference organizers to the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
